[RE]FOCUS Day 50

Week 8: Re-establishing

Day 1: Are You Awake?

By Pastor Justin Krupsky

READ:

In the Apostle’s Creed, we say that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father and that He will come to judge the living and the dead.  Jesus is certainly busy right now, but one day He will be the judge.

I remember the first time I read through Revelation as a 17-year-old boy.  I was quite literally shaking in my boats as I read and received what God spoke in this vision.  As I have had opportunities to read and study Revelation over and over again for the past 25 years I am realizing more and more the true purpose of the vision.  Yes, we need to wake up, but once we are awake we are to live with courage.

The first time I stood before a judge was when I was also 17 after receiving a speeding ticket.  Yes, I was shaking in my boots.  What I knew though was that this judge was not against me, He was for me.  He was not out to get me.  Why?  I knew I was not innocent.

Revelation 19:11 says, “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, he judges and makes war.”

In standing before Jesus one day, I know that my sin led Him to be crucified.  I know that I am not innocent of His blood.  I am confident that when I do see Jesus face to face that He is not against me.  I know that it is by His grace, not my works.  This is what is true. He is faithful, I am not.  He is righteous.  I am not.  He is I AM and I am not.  One day He will re-establish everything and that includes us.  One day we will meet our Savior Jesus; until that day let’s stop hitting the snooze button.   Let’s get up, seize the day, and live in the truth.

“If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – 1 John 1:7-10.

PRAY:

Dear Jesus You are the judge.  Thank You that You are for us and not against us.  Help us to walk in the truth that You have died in our place.  Thank You for Your forgiveness and the humble confidence that we have as we wait to meet You one day in the joys of paradise.   Amen.

LIVE:

Knowing Jesus is for you at the end of all things, and is with you now, what kind of courage does that give you today?  What can you do today with it?
