From Our Pastor...
Trinity has been ministering to God’s people for over 130 years. During those years we have seen much growth, both within our membership and also with our campus. God has truly blessed us in so many ways. And every time a challenge has come our way, God has given us His grace and power to meet the challenge, and yes, in some instances, even to exceed it.
Once again we are being called on to rise to the occasion to take care of our Father’s house so we can remain a beacon of hope to those around us. Our Father’s House.... A Beacon of Hope is the theme of our current campaign. Just like our physical houses, God’s house also needs to be kept in good repair. We have reached that time where more than just daily upkeep is necessary. As a lighthouse needs to keep its lens clean and shining brightly to be effective to those at sea, so our Father’s house needs to have some major upgrades and repairs so it can continue to be a beacon of hope and a refuge of the weary for those who need the grace and hope of Jesus in their lives.
At this time our Board of Properties is finalizing the extensive list of needed repairs and upgrades and is working to prioritize the needs. As that is completed, a presentation will be given as to what will be our first items of concern. Your prayers and support are deeply appreciated during this time.
With our last campaign it was exciting to see the progress of the third floor, parking lot, and construction of the storage building. With this project much of what needs to be done will be out of sight, but that does not mean it is not necessary. You will see some of the improvements especially in the Narthex, main worship area, and church office space. Mechanical systems and roof replacements will not be seen, but you will benefit from the repairs and improvements as it will make for a better worship and educational experience for all.
We ask you to keep the campaign in your prayers. Begin to pray and talk with your spouse and family as to how you can continue to support the daily needs of the church ministry while going above in your campaign contribution. Please be supportive of those who are working hard to make all of this come together without much disruption to daily activities. And finally, pray for all those who continue to serve our Lord at Trinity, especially now with the added activities of the campaign.
This phase of the campaign that we are now entering is called Inform. There are four phases: Imagine (which we have completed by developing clarity around why we are doing this campaign), Inform (current phase), Inspire, and Impact. Another way to put it is to say we move from “I Wish” to “I See” to “I Agree” to “I’m In” to experiencing “Immeasurably More.”
It’s in this phase of “Inform” that we communicate over and over the why and how of the campaign. We’ll be telling the story in as many ways as possible. We want you to know and understand why we’re undertaking this campaign. We want you to have every opportunity to ask questions, offer opinions, or simply tell us how you feel. Communication is a two-way street. We want to be able to share with you why we’re undertaking this campaign, and we welcome your feedback.
Working together our Father’s house will continue to be a beacon of hope for another 130 years. To God be the glory as we accomplish “Immeasurably More” with His blessings.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Norm Koy
